I'd echo exactly what Ubbs said. The best way to get into Hype Machine now is to invent a time machine and go back to the early days. I was rejected (3 times actually) because they felt I wouldn't add much to the conversation on the site. Which might be true since HypeM has so many blogs now that you'd be hard pressed to find something that would "add to the conversation".

There are some promo companies that do cater to that hipster sound rather well. I may not be hip enough to post half of it, but they do still turn up in my inbox :)

and really we have a lot of emails of people (not like ed banger, thats just news) that want to be hear, a lot of mexico, brazil, and england! so what to more do I have to do?

Well, according to Hypem if you are rejected you are rejected. They don't really have a mechanism allowing people to keep trying, do they?

How do all,

I have been reading this board for a while, i hope to submit to Elbows and Hype in the next few weeks as it will be awesome to get my thoughts further out there. I was wondering if you guys that have been accepted by Hype and Elbows could have a look at my site www.kobestarr.com and for your thoughts and critique? It would be know if there is anything that I should be doing to be accepted by these guys. I think mainly as a standard to aim for in my site as i am new to web design and dont know what is good, what is bad and web etiquette and all that fun jazz!

Man, hypemachine needs to open an office in some extremely cool place... You know, russian far east, 20 minutes boating from japan, 10 minutes drive to china, few minutes to korea and you can see alaska from office window. (Palin says so.)

Look. This area is going to be the coolest place to be soon.  US is closed due to economic collapse and terrorism paranoia. Europe is in general malaise. But far east russia? The korean, chinese, japanese, russian all have too much money and nowhere to party. (hey. maybe this isn't such insane idea afteral. I wonder what is the infrastructure/ports/internet in those area. land price and business cost.)

I applied my blog to HypeMachine a little over a month ago. I contacted them and Zoya told me is didn't fit the music ecosystem.. I have no clue what that means. I think my blog fits in very well with what else is tracked on HypeM but who knows. Maybe I should contact them again? I just don't want to be a nuisance.

What do you all think? My blog is RemixTheVideo. Should I contact them again to try to get listed?

I believe they use that as a database for affiliate links or something like that..
