I wonder if Questlove and the Roots were pissed when on Friday N.E.R.D. performed with a live hip-hop band on Jimmy Fallon, and opted not to invite the Roots to do the music (adding insult to injury, Questlove helped organize N.E.R.D.'s band when they went on tour last summer). During their performance, the group performed new track, "Soldier," which features contributions from Santigold and Lil Wayne, both whom, curiously enough, weren't even in attendance on Friday--their parts were just played over the speakers (including Lil Wayne's full verse). Chad Hugo played baritone sax during the entire song, and Pharrell spazzes [...]

N.E.R.D perform a new song, "Soldier," on the March 27 episode of Late Night.

So I had posted before about this song thinking it was Popcorn  and featuring M.I.A. but when I turned on Jimmy Fallon I came to see that Lil Wayne was added to the song as well as a name change to Solider. By far and I mean by far this song has jumped into my favorite of the month and maybe of '09. They each tear it up and I cannot wait to cop an mp3 of this. All I have is the video fro now but even the live video sounds amazing.

Like I said Wayne is on the track...From last night...Damn I need another 'In Search of...' Fellas.. You'll hear Wayne's verse at the end..
