Met All Hour Cymbals heeft de New Yorkse band Yeasayer nu al één van de vreemdste, maar ook fijnste albums van 2008 afgeleverd. Tenminste, als je een beetje open staat voor experimentele muziek. In Engeland is men vol lof; Zo vond The Times het een "splendidly frazzled debut LP" en sprak The Observer over een "record you can get lost in." Wij van ASP vinden de plaat gewoon lekker. My Chemical Toilet

Over the page you will find the video for "Wait For The Summer" by Yeasayer, who are another of the current crop of hotly-tipped US bands. It is a lovely video with many interesting animations, and almost succeeds in distracting you from the fact that the song is somewhat disappointing, especially if you compare it to recent releases from the other new kids on the block, MGMT and Vampire Weekend.

Undertegnede spenderede en stor del af sidste sommer med 2080 i hørebøfferne. Mange gjorde det samme, men mon ikke Yeasayers meget energiske fremførelse af netop det nummer på Conan forleden har skaffet det Roskilde-aktuelle band endnu flere fans? I haven't seen a video this visually dazzling in a long, long time. Get lost in a barrage of images - all those bugs and apples and snowflakes and shadowed handclaps somersault past you with confounding delight. The song ain't half bad either.
