Ich hatte neulich irgendwo gelesen, dass Iceage wohl DIE Band wären, die gerade alles richtig machen würden. Beurteilen kann ich das nicht wirklich, da ich nur diesen einen Song kenne, der gerade in Form eines US-Tourvideos durchs Netz poltert. Dem Video nach können die Jungs aus Dänemark auf jedenfall schon mal ganz ordentlich einen wegmoshen. Auf jedenfall brauche ich aber noch mehr Hörstoff, ich werde aber unter Garantie nicht auf die myspace-Seite gehen. Der Player ist der letzte Schrott. Iceage ist eine dänische Post-Punk-Band, die in bester No Wave-Manier ein Album produziert hat, das den jungen Sonic Youth nachzueifern versucht, ohne wie eine Kopie zu klingen. Dafür genehmigt man sich auch ab und zu etwas True Blood. Schneller, dreckiger, punkiger, brutaler und aggressiver aber letzten Endes genau so versponnen, wenn man das Video anschaut, auch ähnlich arty,, aber dennoch mit mehr Wumms. Das sind Iceage verglichen mit den grossen Sonic Youth. Noise-Rock, No Wave, Post-Punk, you name it they have it. Die Platte nennt sich "New Brigade" [...]

Dais Records has repressed the incredible debut LP from Danish no-wave rockers Iceage . The latest pressing of "New Brigade" is limited to 500 copies (300 white/200 red) and available for $16 here . With their bloody, occult imagery and opaque post-performance-art presentation, Copenhagen's Iceage are like the OFWGKTA gang if they were into Joy Division, Big Black and Wire. I haven't been this excited about a punk band in a long time. Their new LP, New Brigade, is available here.
