Be excited, be very, very excited. This year's festival features countless amazing acts, most notably of Montreal , Cold Cave , Beach Fossils , Starfucker , GZA , Caveman , Jens Lekman , and Class Actress . But that's not where all the action is this week so check out our picks for suggested shows of the week below. And be on the look out [...]
Celine Dion con "My heart will go on"? La rimpianta Whitney Houston con "I will Always Love you"? Qualche anticipazione? Bruno Mars o Rihanna .... E voi, all'ascolto, le avete [...]

10. Kanye West - All of the Lights Even though I love this video, the concept was pretty much taken from Gaspar Noé’s award-winning psycho-thriller , Enter the Void 's opening credits. I guess to Hype Williams, copying is a form of flattery. 9. Lana Del Rey - Born to Die 8. Metronomy - The Bay 7. The Strokes - Taken for a Fool [...]

Photo by Debi Del Grande Foster the People will spend the first half of 2012 globetrotting in support of their breakout debut, Torches . Along with dates in the Eastern Pacific, Australia, the UK and Europe, and South America, the band has schedule a massive U.S. summer tour. The 23-date leg kicks off with a pair of shows in New York City on May 29th and 30th and wraps in Las Vegas on July 7th. Along the way, they'll share bills with The Kooks, Tokyo [...]
Here is 'Call It What You Want' by the rather delightful Foster The People . We like it VERY MUCH. But it's always nice to hear what happens when a track gets taken apart and put back together again with some added electronic beats. That is exactly what our favourite large children, BIGkids , have done. This went online a few days ago: Foster The People 'Call It What You Want' BIGkids remix: Also, we meant [...]

The scoreboard for music's "golden honour" are (drum roll, please) - in first place, Kanye West with seven, coming a close second are Adele, Foo Fighters and Bruno Mars with six a piece... and hold up! Skrillex with five! and Bon Iver with four!!?? Representin' (flickin' a 'gangster' hand gesture in the air)! After Arcade Fire ( Who is Arcade Fire? ) won Album of the Year last year , the Grammys are now throwing around big gold gramophones at the indies. This year it's indie-folk rocker Bon Iver - [...]

The new Foster The People video for their infectious track "Call It What You Want" is quite the visual spectacle. From Mark Pontius playing the drums in a tub (and in another scene while levitating), to what looks like Mark Foster singing with his head in a fishbowl, to Cubbie Fink covering himself in lipstick, it's clear the band is running with the title, and sending a big message. There's also the more controversial scene where Mark Foster shoots, with his hand, a bunch of screaming groupies. What do you call that? A metaphor [...]

Shooting-star pop-rockers Foster The People have released a bizarre, new video for their latest single "Call It What You Want."
Is it just me or does it seem like Foster The People are trying to achieve an Marc Gomez Del Moral (best known for his videos for El Guincho and Battles ) aesthetic in their new video for "Call it What You Want." Video was directed by Ace Norton . Do you think they pulled it off successfully? Tweet
"Call It What You Want" was my favorite track from Foster The People's debut LP Torches from the get-go, even when "Pumped Up Kicks" continued to get all gussied up and get asked out by all those desirable eyes and ears. So I was pretty excited when I learned that my personal favorite was the [...]

I'm not sure what it is, but something about Foster The People just pisses me off. I was a big supporter when I first heard their album Torches , but I feel like they got too big, too quick. Not sure what it is, because I still enjoy their music, but I somehow am looking forward to them failing. Cruel and unusual, I know. Check out their latest video if you wanna get pissed off too.
