Florence and the Machine continue putting one buzzworthy foot in front of the other en route to the US release of her debut album Lungs . I've enjoyed most of the covers she's created and love where she's headed with Lungs , yet the video for her latest single "Drumming Song" doesn't match the pace and style of the album. Florence and the Machine's video for "Drumming Song" is probably one of the best videos you'll see all year that don't involve some intricate concept or oddball animation. Some dude has Florence so sprung that she heard drumming whenever he's around. You know, it's "louder than sirens/louder than bells/sweeter than heaven/hotter than bells." To make sure we know how she feels, she Flashdances all over the video to accompany the already compelling track from Florence's debut LP, Lungs . Miss Florence and her backup machines have another video for us from her debut, Lungs . She's still keeping with the Stevie Nicks vibe, but a little less 'Wicker Man' on this outing. Just another example of why 'Lungs' will likely end up on my Best of 09 list.
The slickest of the videos she's done, and a bit more "choreography/dance/pop star/etc." There's a few steps here and there that remind me of Beyonce, oddly enough.
Our favorites band of 2009 have just released their new single. We like it, but it's one of those songs with a great chorus but nothing else is worthy. Still, the chorus is very hot. The video is also their best. Now, the next single should be "My Boy Builds Coffins" if they don't want to release the Candi Staton cover "You Got The Love." Florence + the machine - "Drumming Song" Florence and the Machine is back with a new single from her Lungs album - sososo happy that "Drumming Song" got a video. Such an intense song... James Ford was a good match for her. And so happy that they ditched the barftastic Renaissance Fair vibe from her Rabbit Heart video and went for something a little sexier. Look for the single September 13th.
