Die With Your Chin Up is a short documentary film featuring the Smith Westerns in the last stages of recording their debut, Dye It Blonde (read our review here).  The film was directed by Ray Concepcion and it's definitely worth watching.

The Smith Westerns made a short-film for their single "Die With Your Chin Up" directed by Ray Concepcion. A mix of video clip and documentary about recording the song. Pretty neat. For the record, the Smith Westerns will be playing at La Flèche d'Or in Paris, there's few tickets left here, be quick !

Smith Westerns have released a short film by Ray Concepcion called "Die With Your Chin Up". The film is the result of the band inviting Concepcion into the studio during the final stages of the recording of their latest album Dye It Blonde. Die With Your Chin Up is a behind the scenes look at the recording of the Smith Western's well-recieved sophomore album Dye It Blonde as chronicled by NYC filmmaker Ray Concepcion. The 9-minute short film variously captures the band in the studio recording "All Die Young," guitarist Max Kakacek discussing their musical influences (70's glam and Oasis) and shots of the band shambling aimlessly in cut off jeans. Player Piano , the second album from New Jersey artist Dayve Hawk aka Memory Tapes , is due out on July 4 via Something In Construction Records, they've announced. Apparently it'll move away from the first album's dancey electro sounds to something with a little more melody.
