We leave you for the weekend with our favorite music videos of 2011 : you'll notice that the majority of these videos are of the low-budget, DIY variety, as most of the expansive / cinematic joints that dropped this year felt a little overwrought and, with a couple of notable exceptions, mostly fell flat for us. There are even a few found footage clips mixed in there, and (spoiler) our top two vids are both self-directed. Check the full list after the jump... click for GORILLA vs. BEAR's [...]

The only thing that we can't prewarn you of is the weather, but the unpredictability is half of the fun! Right? So what could possibly beat a British festival? Well how about replacing that weather worry with a big ol' bottle of sunscreen? Or putting down that pie, mash and warm 7UP [...]
Today's my last day at Stereogum, so instead of the best videos of this week, I'm posting the best videos of the year so far. They line up pretty closely with my favorite videos of the year, but hey, it's my last day. I get to pick my favorites. I included videos from my two favorite up-and-coming director collectives (DANIELS and CANADA), directors who create mesmerizing puzzles, some uncomfortable clips, some uncomfortable narratives, and a few NSFW videos. If you've got 2011 videos that you think should be here, put them in the comments. And thanks for reading/watching/listening [...]
