When one thinks of indie hotbeds, Japan rarely comes to mind. But what they might lack in output, the Japanese make up for in quality. Cloudy Bussey is the solo project of Bob of Kansai, Japan's Ice Cream Shout , one of my favorite discoveries of 2010. Bob calls the project the "orphan" tracks that didn't quite fit in with what Ice Cream Shout was doing. Thank goodness these weren't cast aside, though. “Broken by Inertia” is the type of spacey, anthemic music that is perfect for summertime fist-pumping. No matter how many times I listen to this song, it still [...]

Tweet Bob Willey lives in Osaka and peddles his musical endeavours through Ice Cream Shout. Just to confuse us he also records under Cloudy Busey and it is here that we take up his story, or to be more precise his music. I may or may not be the first to post this, either way I was so stoked about the email I received from Bob of Cloudy Busey (from the band Ice Cream Shout ) I jumped out of my sick-bed in a fit of excitement. Both of the past songs sent to me from Bob's projects ended up being my favorite songs of 2010 (which we never posted). This song, which includes their first original video, takes a beat driven side as opposed to the light and airiness of the past two. Its [...]
