We blogged about Friends already at the end of last month here , but since the buzz for the band is mounting (they accumulated almost 5k Facebook friends in these few months of activity!) we were looking for an excuse to post this other video they released two months ago - the song is the band's second single "Friend Crush", which is good but not as good as " I'm His Girl ". Diese Ansage interessiert kaum jemand, spätestens aber mit dem heutigen Song des Tages wird die Band auf offene Lauscher stossen.  Die Glocken beim Videobeginn von "I`m his Girl" könnte auch der Hipsteralarm sein: Die auf das Gebimmel folgenden Sekunden triefen von all jenen Klischees, die dieser Gattung zugeschrieben werden. looks like the interwebs are getting all jiggy with a cover of the song "mr. boo" by brkln's dance pop band friends i imagine it's sending countless of hipsters into spontaneous electrorobotboogie induced body movin'. and it should - it is the jam. We're never going to get through this critique without discussing their band name, so we may as well address it straight from the outset. Friends is pretty rubbish isn't it. Apart from the piss-poor Chandler, Phoebe, Joey et al connotations, it's like the opposite of Search Engine Optimization . Search Engine Pessimization is perhaps more appropriate. Being tipped as a band to watch by Stereogum is a pretty good start in anyone's book - and now Brooklyn based band Friends have signed on the line with Lucky Number Records. The weird pop creators recently released a limited 73 entitled 'Friend Crush' which sold out very quickly indeed. Their next single, 'I'm His Girl', is out in September. Not to be confused with the late-1990s Swedish pop group, Friends is a Brooklyn-based quartet that has only been around for a few months.  These guys are so new they don't even have a Wikipedia page (the horror!).  The band was just recently signed to Lucky Number Music and shot a video for "Friend Crush," its first single originally released back in March.
