Chairlift's 2008 debut album Does You Inspire You? was an impressive if somewhat muddled first release. Swaying from from bubblegum electro-pop to moodier synth cuts, the overall impression of the Brooklyn band's debut was "interesting" and perhaps most notable for 'Bruises' , a cute song that featured in an iPod commercial that year. Just the other day I was getting excited by the “a-woah-a-oh's” in this song , and now I'm really rather enjoying the "ba da ba ba's" in Chairlift 's newest offering from their January scheduled album Something. After hearing " Sidewalk Safari ", and the wonderfully named "Amanaemonesia" (the video for which you can check out after the jump) I'm definitely interested to see what the album sounds like, as the band seem to have grown up, branched out and beefed up a bit since their "Bruises and "Earwig Town" days. Chairlift - Sidewalk Safari We had such high hopes for Chairlift 's new album after listening to their single "Amanaemonesia" and weren't too sure what to expect next. Lucky for us, the duo didn't disappoint. Singer Caroline Polachek's pop vocals shine most on "Sidewalk Safari", expressing a combination of whimsy highs and profound lows. Brooklyn electro-pop outfit  Chairlift  are finally ready to follow up their 2008 debut,  Does You Inspire You . On January 24th, 2012, the now duo of Caroline Polachek and Patrick Wimberly (guitarist Aaron Pfenning has left the band to focus on solo project Rewards) will make their Columbia Records debut with the release of   Something . In this new unpronounceable Chairlift video, front woman Caroline Polachek dances around in a green bodysuit, showcasing her acrobatic dancer's body and super flexible butt (cue 1:55). Meanwhile, a cartoon face sings backing vocals. It's a very strange video, like some kind of 80s sci-fi aerobic clip, but the song is just strange enough to be awesome and Caroline is a total babe. This is a new Chairlift video for the song "Amanaemonesia." I don't really care that the song has a stupid name, bc they 'delivered' with a solid video that features HOTTIE ALT Caroline Polachek showing off her bangin body in a green leotard / jumpsuit / spandex sex slave outfit. I have watched the video 10+ times, watching every inch of her body, thinking abt what life will be like when I make

Do you ever get the feeling that people are just making videos for the sake of making a video? I mean I KNOW that unitards are certainly NOT cheap, drawing is hard and peoples time is definitely worth something. But that being said... this video feels kinda thrown together because someone said to Chairlift... "You guys really need to make a video for Amanaemonesia, you have 3 minutes to come up with an idea... all we are giving you is this Macbook Air with Final Cut Pro already installed, this unitard and and pretty good pencil artist. Good luck."

Chairlift has given their single "Amanaemonesia" an 802s inspired visual. Some weird dance moves and a figure that interjects throughout the song is about all you get here but we love the direction they're going in on the new upcoming Lp. Visuals are up above.

I have no words for this video. 'Amanaemonesia' is taken from Chairlift's forthcoming third album, which is coming out on Grizzy Bear bassist Chris Taylor's label Terrible Records next year. The song featured on The Point Of Everything in July.
