This short documentary made up of interviews with Insane Clown Posse fans at the annual Gathering Of The Juggalos is kind of fascinating. Partly it's just intoxicated people saying stupid stuff, but the continuing theme of them all being a family is more than that. It's kind of cult-like in a way. That connection also seems to mean that ICP don't have to lay on much in the way of entertainment at their festival (aside from the music, fast food stands seem to be a particular draw). Mark this on my watching list for this week, American Juggalo , a documentary on the Christian hard-core rock listening youth known for their fascination and idolization of Jack White collaborators (never thought I'd say that) Insane Clown Posse. The film is directed by Sean Dunne and comes out just in time for The Gathering of the Juggalos. The Gathering of the Juggalos is something I don't ever want to attend. But every year, thousands of people willingly go there, spending a good portion of their hard earned money to spend a weekend away from their lives. It's something people look forward to all year.
