Das FUTURE IS NOW-Festival bringt "ODDSAC" auf die Grossleinwand. Am Wochenende ist das "visual Album" von Animal Collective im RiffRaff zu sehen. Man kann sich ODDSAC wie eine Einzelhaft im "Red Room" von Twin Peaks, wie eine von Trier'sche Dekonstruktion des Vampir-Genres oder wie einen Halloween-Film von den Beach Boys vorstellen. Fans von Animal Collective können sich auf einen 50-minütigen Psycho-Thriller im Stile des "Peacebone"-Videos gefasst machen. So, this weekend was fun. It's not every weekend that you get the chance of gigs, parties, more gigs and more parties but this was one of those weekends and i made sure i enjoyed it to the full. I am however suffering for it now. Major hangover. Oddsac , Animal Collective's "visual album", opens at the Guggenheim today. Tickets sold out right quick, but it looks like a second date is being added before this "demonic" and "horrific" piece of audio-visual art goes on tour with members of Animal Collective and Danny Perez , the collaborator who made this psychedelic, vampiric, and allegedly epilepsy-inducing masterpiece possible. Being billed as a "visual album", Oddsac is currently being screened at Sundance Film Festival to an average 3 out of 5 star rating. Not bad. Hey, man! It's another dark and chilly morning, but what else is new? Yesterday I came home and needed a little break from work, so I went to a friend's house and we watched Oprah interview Rosie O'Donnell. (It was actually a really good show!) Anyway, then I read some comics and caught up on Big Love. Wow. That situation keeps getting nuttier. Maybe Sissy Spacek can help sort it out.
