Sporting a typical rock band name with the trademark definite article, The Killers are a musical booster that reminds us that, as opposed to Marilyn Manson's claim, rock is not dead. These four stars and stripes boys, all Nevada natives, have been immerging us in delicious and pungeant soudnwaves since 2004 when their debut album was released with a bang. The Killers have added extra shows to their October / November tour, which went on sale at 9am this morning. Tickets for the first shows sold out in a matter of minutes, so additional dates have now been confirmed in Birmingham and Manchester, with tickets for these going on-sale from 10am. Finally got around to spinning the KILLERS ' week-old new single, RUNAWAYS , which certainly ain't their most ground-breaking toon but got me in a jolz mood hearing they've almost returned to Sam's Town form.

If 20082s Day & Age saw The Killers try to slip back into their dancing shoes after the dirt and dust of the guitar heavy Sam's Town , then Runaways, the first single from fourth album Battle Born , is again the sound of a group taking an about turn. The photo says it all. Two of them are wearing leather jackets. The others, denim. The track opens very much like many of the tracks from Brandon Flowers's solo record before the whole thing lifts off into true bombast and Flowers swears [...]

As you may have already heard, Las Vegas' favorite rockers are back from an extended break. The Killers ' last record was Day & Age back in 2008. A few solo albums later, they are now gearing up to release their newest work, entitled Battle Born on September 17.  Lead frontman Brandon Flowers, bass player Mark Stoermer, and drummer Ronnie Vannucci all put out their own projects, then all reunited again in April of last year for Lollapalooza in Chile. Brandon Flowers is back in his day job with the Killers, who release their fifth album, Battle Born, on September 17th. Fans got the chance to hear the band's first single in 4 years yesterday, as the anthemic 'Runaways' got its world premiere. Have a listen below. And it official. The Killers are back together. Say hello to their new track 'Runaway' and their new album 'Battle Born' which will be released in September. This news is ridiculously exciting, we have only had to wait, oh, four years for an album after their first three, 'Hot Fuss', 'Sam's Town' and 'Day and Age', which were spectacular. Unfortunately I am rather impartial to the song but I think it will grow on me after a few listens. Really looking forward to hearing more from the band!

The Killers sind zurück mit The Killers. Angekündigt haben The Killers nach dem sehr 80ties-lastigen "Day & Age" eine Rückbesinnung auf den eher rockigeren Sound des Debüt-Albums. In an interview with Rolling Stone last May, The Killers announced plans to release the fourth album in the band’s catalog, Battle Born. The album will be the band’s first since 2008’s Day & Age . As previously mentioned from the band, today marks the release of the new album’s first official single, 'Runaways'. The four-minute epic, loaded with synths and grandiose prose, takes another stab at Springsteen-centric arena rock. Check it out below and grab the album September 18th, via Island Records
