I've been hot and cold on the Killers over the years, but I have to say they are on the uptick as far as I am concerned.  Their sci-fi concept disc Day and Age was my favorite release to date, and the Brandon Flowers solo album ( that sounded a lot like a Killers album) was not too shabby itself.  Break up rumors be damned, the band is back with a new album set for a fall release Battle Born, and today released an as always anthemic lead single "Runaways".  Check it out below!

The Killers have posted the first single from their upcoming album, titled "Runaways." The record is titled Battle Born , and will be the band's first since 2008's Day & Age . They are planning for a fall 2012 release.

I really like it! A new studio album "Battle Born" will be released on September 17th. A series of producers worked on the album, including Madonna collaborator Stuart Price, Steve Lillywhite, Damian Taylor and Brendan O'Brien. It is the band's first album in over four years.

Rising electro pop star MNDR has released a new tune from her upcoming album Feed Me Diamonds , out August 14. The follow up to "#1 In Heaven" is called "Faster Horses", and it is every bit as danceable as the first, if not more so. On this one, MNDR completely embraces modern house and dance and brings all the super positive energy that's been resonating through all of her work thus far. New track from The Killers? Don't mind if I do. Brandon Flowers has to have one of the more distinctive voices in music, and I've always enjoyed what he's released. "Runaways" is the first look we have off The Killers' upcoming album Battle Born, due out this fall. Is it just me or is there a bizarre Springsteen feel here? Man. I have missed The Killers . Off their upcoming album, Battle Born , comes the lead single, "Runaways." Returning to a sound truer to their earlier days, "Runaways" sports a canvas of synthesizers topped with walloping guitars and the passionately quivering voice of Brandon Flowers. Let's keep the good times rolling here on this fine Tuesday. As you should all know by now, Channel Orange dropped a week earlier than expected, and we now have some brand new material from The Killers . So here it is. Our first taste of brand new music from The Killers in the form of their new single, "Runaways". It's the first single off of their forthcoming album, Battle Born , which will be released this fall. While it may not be the most dance-y track that Brandon Flowers and Co. have released, it definitely highlights the guitar aspect of the band quite well. It's a track that continues to swell as if it were meant to fill arenas and festival grounds. Stream it down below.
