Tegan and Sara didn't bring their telephone cord on Letterman last night, and wrap it around themselves like their video for '"Call It Off." They just performed and well too in a stirring acoustic number from The Con.

The Sisters Quin flashed a simple, touching video for the simply touching "Call It Off" not so long ago which had Tegan literally wound up and unable to cut the cord on some tough love. Chris Walla's subtly synthy production on the track keeps it in line with the rest of the still-awesome The Con LP, just dialed down so the pathos can sit up front with the rest as color. Last night on Letterman, though, the brush sticks were out and Sara's keyboard setting to piano, grounding the cut in something folkier and Living Room [...]

Playing for Letterman last night, Tegan and Sara slowed down their already-languid "Call It Off", an acoustic guitar-led strummer from last year's Chris Walla-produced The Con . The Canadian sister act skitter through this breakup song, Sara's keyboard underpinning Tegan's delicate guitar plucking.
