This video's a bit old (about two weeks) by Internet standards but it's just so damn good I had to post it. I am absolutely enraptured by the Fleet Foxes. I cannot stop listening to both their s/t full length and the Sun Giant EP that preceded it. I don't know how I didn't catch them during SXSW . The video below is of them performing "Blue Ridge Mountains", one of the standouts on Fleet Foxes and a wonderful choice of song that I was honestly surprised [...]
I still think the guy from Fleet Foxes sounds a bit too much like the guy My Morning Jacket, personally.
In case you missed the Fleet Foxes recent performance of "Blue Ridge Mountains" on the Letterman Show: If you haven't picked up their self-titled debut album yet, put it at the top of your weekend agenda. Seriously, I don't get paid to write this shit. It's that fucking good! After listening to that opus, most other releases that came out this year sound a bit silly. I'm sure Cecilia would agree. At this point, I'd find it hard to believe that this album wouldn't [...]

You've all seen this already, right? If you haven't, you should.
So there's this band that Frymaster has been talking about for months, Fleet Foxes . It's been Fleet Foxes this, and Fleet Foxes that for months now and it's getting kind of annoying, so here's a post to help you decide whether to keep paying attention or not. The Foxes on Letterman last night: Here's a link to a three-song Lillywhite Session. And here's a link to listen to an NPR podcast of their [...]
It's official guys - the Fleet Foxes are fucking huge.
Fleet Foxes preform the song "Blue Ridge Mountains" cue bad joke from Letterman and awesome performance from Fleet Foxes
Fleet Foxes - "Blue Ridge Mountains" - Live on David Letterman 8.4.08 Dave didn't misspeak, Fleet Foxes are from Seattle. Not anywhere close to Appalachia's mountains, blue ridged or otherwise.
Last night as I was flipping channels, I stumbled across Fleet Foxes playing on The Tonight Show. Best surprise of the week. They played "Blue Ridge Mountains", a song that I had initially overlooked but am now getting into in a major way, thanks in part to their set at the Pitchfork Music Festival a couple weeks ago. Fleet Foxes are incredible live, and this is probably the best video approximation of what it's like to be at one of their shows. Judging from the applause after the song ended, I can see that Fleet Foxes were able to [...]
In case you missed it, Fleet Foxes made their network TV debut on David Letterman last night, performing "Blue Ridge Mountains." Even though I had just seen them a week earlier, I was still shocked to see how spectacular their harmonies sounded. It's refreshing to see a band perform that crisp and calculated on a one-song musical guest appearance.
As described above, I really hate to love these guys.
As much as I resisted this band for awhile, I have learned to love them even more. Fleet Foxes have produced one of the most beautiful and moving recordings of the this year. Here they are performing one of my favorite tunes off the self titled release "Blue Ridge Mountains". Robin is sans his favorite piece of clothing though. Watch: Listen: Normal 0 [...]
Seattle's Fleet Foxes bounded onto Letterman last night to perform a haunting rendition of "Blue Ridge Mountains" off their self-titled, ...
Sure to be posted on every music blog today, here is the video of The Fleet Foxes playing Letterman last night: <
Fleet Foxes - Blue Ridge Mountains on TV - August 4, 2008 Fleet Foxes ' next NYC show will be at Webster Hall .
David Letterman introduces Fleet Foxes with some kind of joke involving fleet foxes and dogs, because, um, I guess you don't want foxes in the dog house or something. "In the quivering forest/ Where the shivering dog rests," the group sings, in the dulcet harmonies that won me over at the Pitchfork Festival . The song is Fleet Foxes ' "Blue Ridge Mountains", with mandolin and piano complementing guitars and that reverb-coated lead vocal by Robin Pecknold. Even Letterman seems [...]
