Here's the latest video from Patterson Hood and the Screwtopians (which includes members of both the Drive-By Truckers and Centro-Matic/South San Gabriel). The video is a live studio performance of "Pollyanna", a song which appears on Hood's latest solo album Murdering Oscar (and Other Love Songs) . With no solo dates currently on his schedule, Hood is now out on the road with the Drive-By Truckers who have a number of shows coming up this month. Patterson Hood and his primary band, Drive-By Truckers , are known for many things - detail-rich songs that document the histories, myths, and secrets of the Dirty South, reckless live shows that revel in triple guitar assaults and Jack Daniels-inspired camaraderie, and, possibly most impressive of all, giving southern-rock some actual street-cred. Drive By Truckers' frontman and beard extraordinaire , Patterson Hood, has struggled to make a splash with his newest release, Murdering Oscar (and Other Love Songs) , which dropped in late June -- maybe rightly so. We're caught between rock and a hard...band(?) Loving DBT is just something we do; their music and southern soul flows deep in our veins and permeates our being. We don't know why we wear Western shirts, drink the occasional whiskey and don cowboy boots, but when Southern Rock [...]
