American singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Julia Holter has collaborated with psychedelia sampler Jib Kidder (check out his work here ) to make 'My Baby'. A nod to classic Motown, but featuring enough synth chimes and soft strings to bring a sophisticated pop touch. Also in the track’s foundations is an altered version of Kidder’s 'Ringtone Cowboy' from his latest EP 'Steel guitars', Kidder’s sample creates a country undertone to cut through the strings and synth. It’s short, yet sweet. Julia Holter’s 2012 album Ekstasis is available from RVNG records.
