In poche parole melodie [...]
I didn't think that I was going to be this excited for the show, but I'm pretty stoked. Part of it, is that my talented partner/photographer will be shooting the event. And it's a rare opportunity to see a band that I might never have the op to see again. A band that put out a record, that was a staple for me back in the day. My Bloody Valentine - To Here Knows When (Live @ Fuji Rock Festival) Looks like our favorite noise-rockers haven't lost a single step. MP3 : My Bloody Valentine - To Here Knows When - Sean
There have been loads of MBV videos floating about on YouTube but it's really nice to see a high-quality one like this so you can truly appreciate the MBV sound and experience.
We had essentially forgotten that My Bloody Valentine even was reuniting, figuring that nobody in our tax bracket would ever be able to see it. But if this clip that's been making the rounds from their Fuji Fest performance last month doesn't quite get us totally pumped to see the show, we're at least now up to "intrigued."
As US music fans brace for the beautiful sonic assault of the reunited British shoegaze band My Bloody Valentine, the band has quietly stocked its landmark albums Isn't Anything and Loveless in iTunes, Amazon and other digital music stores for the first time. Before Tuesday, only a handful of their songs appear to have been available for digital purchase. But just because the band has dipped its proverbial toe in the digital waters doesn't mean we can expect a strategy on the level of that of Radiohead or Nine Inch [...]
It's been difficult to track down any video footage from the recent My Bloody Valentine reunion that doesn't sound like a vacuum cleaner making love to a jackhammer. Capturing cell ...
It's pretty difficult not to get cynical about the number of reunion tours and records over the past couple of years, but if anyone's doing it gracefully, and still feels vital and relevant while doing it, it's My Bloody Valentine. I was lucky enough to catch them on their Loveless tour with the equally successfully reunited Dinosaur Jr. when I was knee-high to a grasshopper -- judging from this multi-camera clip of them doing a lovely, smearing rendition of "To Here Knows When" before a frenetic backdrop at last month's Fuji Rock Festival , they [...]
We hear about them enough lately that My Bloody Valentine very well could be the hot young things on the block, but Loveless (1991) and Isn't Anything (1988) hearken from the days of record stores and mail-in order forms. Of course, these records have been available for purchase on the Internet, but they haven't existed in any legitimate digital form until now. Both are available for purchase in remastered form from various online outlets, which might be a move to appease those clamoring for physical copies of the remasters. [...]
My Bloody Valentine playing " To Here Knows When " at FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL
Anyone still bitching about the $60 ticket price to catch My Bloody Valentine at the Santa Monica Civic in early October should feel pretty content after watching this video. It is my recollection that the Loveless tracks, such as this amazing version of "To Here Knows When," were difficult to pull-off back in the day. MBV never quite nailed the tone that they created and captured so well on disc, but this new video ( P4K ) is undoubtedly the best [...]
My guess is that, for just about everyone who saw them for the first time this year, the return of My Bloody Valentine to the live stage may turn out to be the most significant musical event of 2008 (while we're on the subject, be sure to check Tom Ewing's piece on the show he saw). There have been plenty of YouTubes from their reunion gigs, of course, but all I've seen have been marred by the obvious problem: MBV are one of the loudest bands in the world, and there's no way in [...]
