Mumford & Sons - The Cave Sometimes I miss driving my scooter by the tropical seaside of the Pacific. It makes me miss pulling into a beach, grabbing some drinks, some fireworks, sitting back with some cool cats and my love. All the while having a relaxing time and blasting some fireworks and firecrackers into the illuminated sky, with the brightly colored phosphorus reflecting off of the ocean. Sometimes I miss that. Oddly enough, when I’m there, I miss the mountains and forests surrounding the Rockey’s. Life is beautiful. Enjoy it. Enjoy those you [...]
Filed under: Concerts and Tours , News Simone Joyner, Getty Images This April, in an adventure that will go straight into the history books, three bands -- Mumford & Sons (pictured), Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros , and Old Crow Medicine Show -- will get to jam out on a railroad, all the live long day. The bands will cross the continent in vintage railcars for one week, performing concerts at nightly [...]
In light of the Mumford & Sons playing their single, "The Cave" live at this past Sunday's Grammy's , I thought it would be fitting to do a artist profile on them. Mumford & Sons hail from England and blew up in the folk scene with their debut album Sigh No More in 2009. The guys came together in 2007 and the four members quickly became the talk of the music scene. The folk group is generating [...]
Featuring some big names both old and new, it's just another crazy busy musical Thursday evening... ... Continue reading "Tonight, Tonight: Mumford & Sons at House of Blues, Appleseed Cast at The Loft, Circle Pit at The Cavern, Cruel Hands at The Nightmare and The Dwarves at the Double Wide" >
Sorry this is a day late. I spent the weekend at my parents' house, and the internet there is slightly less than optimal. I seem to be coming to this band a little later than some, but I have spent the last few weeks completely mesmerized by Mumford and Sons .
State's pick of the quiet, the acoustic, the ‘quintessentially English’, the music for 'those nursing a sore head after the night before' and so much more. It's the folky bands at Electric Picnic. 1. Mumford & Sons (Sunday) The London folk act are known for the communal vibe of their live shows, and by all accounts their set was one of the highlights of this year’s Oxegen festival. They may not be the hippest band on the bill, but there should be an electric atmosphere for this one. [...]
by Andrew Frisicano Mumford & Sons @ Bowery Ballroom on February 18th ( more by Sarahana ) London four-piece Mumford & Sons will make good on the promise made at their sold-out Bowery Ballroom show earlier this February to return shortly to NYC. The band heads out with Australia's the Middle East across North America this May and June, and they'll both be at NYC's Webster Hall on Tuesday, [...]
British indie folk artists Laura Marling and Mumford & Sons played the Soundpad tour in India a couple of months ago. While they were here, they took a short detour to Goa where they spent four days in the sun and sand recording two music videos - Laura Marling's 'Devil's Spoke' and Mumford & Sons' 'The Cave' . Both videos were produced by the folks over at Babble Fish Productions . Samira Kanwar, who runs Babble Fish, gave us this special, behind-the-scenes look at the making of the videos. [...]
With their debut LP of rousing Americana, this quartet of Londoners puts most American roots-rockers to shame. Although you'd probably never guess it from listening to Mumford & Sons' debut LP, Sigh No More, the entire band hails from West London. Yet these four gentlemen manage to tap into the fabled Old, Weird America better than their ballyhooed American counterparts Kings of Leon and the Avett Brothers. Beyond superficial measures like employing banjo, mandolin, and double-bass, Mumford & Sons appear to have a Masters' level education in and appreciation for American roots...
Mumford & Sons ( MySpace ) were quite easily one of my favourites bands of 2009 (and Lauren's too) with their fantastic EP and album releases. And The Cave was my favourite track of the bunch - enough so that I introduced it on the Contrast Podcast end of year countdown . But now they are releasing it as a single on 1st March, which is great news if you want a copy on 45 and in the fact that they have done a video. I would give tour dates as they [...]
Mumford and Sons release another single from their excellent debut album Sigh No More . Following on from 'Winter Winds', the next release is 'The Cave'. The video was recorded in India late last year, when the band was on tour with Laura Marling. The single comes out March 1st on Gentlemen of the Road. They play the Academy on March 18th, but it's fully sold out. No doubt they'll be in a bigger venue next time out. Watch 'The Cave':
With The Cave's pounding tale of hope and defiance already looking set for similar success, 2010 is clearly shaping up to be Mumford & Sons' year.
Rough day, rough day. Time for videos to escape, if only for a few minutes... Some select gems from the music geeks down in the society , thanks guys! Cheers, Tsuru
I am spending my evening catching up on some of the movies expected to get Oscar nods which put my in a visual frame of mind. Coincidentally, there have been a few cool videos to cross my path recently so I thought I'd share them with you real quick. Enjoy! Mumford & Sons - The Cave This video give me alittle shiver, which I haven’t had done to be by music is a little while. I thought their album was coming out on February 28th but it looks like it was moved to the 16th. ( new news today ) Previously: Mumford & Sons - Little Lion Man
