I was listening to an old WTF/Marc Maron podcast the other day and comedian Larry Miller was talking about how comedy is in the pauses and spacing between jokes and laughs. (Paraphrasing), He said that music is the same way in that if there was a wall of sound without any breaks coming at you, your brain couldn't make sense of anything. Anyhoobastank, in this older song by Tigercity, I like the Hall and Oatesian lags that last a little too long in around minute 1:03.
