If there is one thing I can say for Muse is that they have a wicked sense of humour. So Muse was asked to lip synch for an Italian TV show. They did, but put their lead singer Matt behind the drum set and the drummer stood in as the lead singer. Pretty funny. In the interview at the end you can hear the drummer Dominic referring to "our drummer Matt". I wonder how many people in the audience picked up on what just happened. Pigeons and Planes
While promoting their new banging new single Uprising on Italian TV, Muse members Matt (singer) and Dominic (drummer) decided to trick the cheesy show and host by trading places. They wanted to protest cause they had been asked to lipsynch their performance, which is not really a thing they usually do... The funniest part is that the show host doesn't even realise, and call them "The Muse". Wait for Dom's little speach at the end, when he calls Matt "our drummer". Good one, guys. [...]
So yesterday I saw this video of Muse. It started out fine, some Italian lady introducing them and I see Matt on the drums and the drummer "singing". Apparently Muse was told they had to lip-sync and like countless others before them, they had some fun with it. I really liked the time Nirvana did it on Top of the Pops, he sounded kind of like Ian Curtis. :p
Muse are one of the best active bands on the planet, and their new album, The Resistance, is one of the best of the year. Period. This is why: Muse was asked to play their new single "Uprising" on an Italian TV show, but the show told the band they had to play along to a track instead of actually performing live. Therefore, Muse decided to take things into their own hands. Check out their "performance": So so great. If you're not getting the joke, the band switched their instruments. But hopefully you all got the joke!
Muse crack me up and having JUST found out about this, I wanted to share. According to Revivl (and a million other sources as well) the band were asked to lip sync their new single , "Uprising" on Italian talk show "Quelli Che Il Calcio" and didn't really want to but were convinced to do so anyway. In fact, they were ended up having such a good time with it, they took some photos and posted to their Official Twitter account . Now, you have to watch this, right? [...]
Muse were on the Italian Tv show "Quelli che il calcio" to promote their new single Uprising. The fun part is that they were forced to use a backup track with vocals and full instrumentation. That's when they decided to trade places and no one in the studio noticed. The host, Simona Ventura even calls Matt the drummer. Classic!
Anything weird going on here? Apart from being introduced as The Muse , do you notice how much they sound like the recorded album? Or how about the fact that Matt is on drums, Chris on guitar/keys and Dominic on bass? I saw this on The In Sound From Way Out today, and figure this is what happens when you ask a band to lip-sync for TV. Hey, I may not have liked The Resistance , and that might make me a terrible person, but whatever dude. I still have always respected and even liked (gasp!) Muse , especially earlier in the band's tenure. Apparently, the band was told to play to a backing track for a recent performance on Italian TV. Well, Muse doesn't like playing to backing tracks, because they're Muse, dammit. The result is this awesome, awesome "performance." I wonder if anyone in the studio had any clue they were being punk'd harder than Justin Timberlake. [...]
Matt Bellamy on drums, Chris on guitar and keys, Dom as the terrific front man, Muse have performed a bit of a prank on a German Italian TV station. Matt's performance on the kit is something to behold, punching triumphantly for every musical bash and crash.
