AU's latest release, Both Lights, hits me like a wave. I walked right into it, eyes open. The music writer Bob Palmer once described "a fusion of music and poetry accomplished at a very high emotional temperature." He called it "a gigantic field of feeling…something enduring, something that could be limitless." ...

The band AU has always impressed me in all sorts of ways. Mostly by sticking to their guns on their own brand of "weird". Everything they do needs to be looked at sideways, from far outside the box to gain a good perspective on where it comes from. On their new album, Both Lights, they carve [...]
The video for AU's "OJ" is much like the song it illustrates-frenetic, ethereal and colorful. The track comes from the Portland-based duo's latest release, Both Lights, which was released earlier this month via The Leaf Label.
The music of Portland experimentalists Au often sounds like color in motion, so it's fitting that the video for their ... Read the full article at http://www.prefixmag.com/media /au/oj-video/64664/

Well, well, well.... Doing this kinda thing you inevitably go to many gigs. And I mean many, many gigs. Which isn't a bad thing of course, but it had been getting to the point where I was starting to take it all for granted (sorry). At 9.30pm on Monday I was still sat at home trying to work out whether I could be bothered to brave the rain and late-night bus customers to go and check out the Portland duo AU . Backed by a new record and positive internet murmurings - not to mention [...]

What: Portland experimental pop act AU blur the line between human beings and color blotches in the music video for "OJ". The group's latest album, Both Lights , is out now via Hometapes. Directed by: Takafumi Tsuchiya
Today in two-letter words: Here is the dazzling new video from AU , for their song "OJ." It's a colorful, kaleidoscopic clip created, animated, and directed by Takafumi Tsuchiya , who also did AU's video for "Ida Walked Away." "OJ" is one of the densest, dizziest songs on AU's excellent new record Both Lights —one of the most confounding stylistically (AU songwriter Luke Wyland says it was also one of the hardest to finish)—but it's given excellent, fluid treatment here in Tsuchiya's video, brimming with pleasing pastels and quick-moving animation. It's a beautiful thing to [...]
