Pop. 1280 put out a new music video directed by Jacqueline Castel, and all the lyrical references come together like a disturbing and horrifying puzzle. Yes, my review of the band's latest album, the Horror , acknowledged the music's dark, gritty edge; however, I never would have figured that this track was somehow in reference to the Long Island serial killer-who is still at large, I might add. Dark, dark, unsettling stuff. / via /

Cuando conocí a Pop. 1280 y bajé su disco me dio un poquito de miedo. El art-punk que manejan no es digerible a la primera, a menos que tengamos el oído acostumbrado a este tipo de música. Después de varias escuchadas, me empezaron a gustar más, pero por desgracia los había olvidado hasta ahora. Jacqueline Castel fue la encargada de dirigir el video de " Bodies In The Dunes ", el último sencillo de esta banda neoyorquina. Díganme qué les parece.

The New York band Pop. 1280 make a grimy, scuzzy, entirely sinister variety of art-punk. So it only makes sense that director Jacqueline Castel would turn the video for their song " Bodies In The Dunes " into a '70s-style mini-horror movie about a serial killer who buries his victims on a deserted beach. What: This one takes the song's title literally. Based loosely on a Long Island serial killer, who killed prostitutes and dumped their bodies near the beach , Pop. 12802s latest video, as a press release indicates, "is not for the faint of heart."
