The Edge , Stevie Ray Vaughan , The Beatles , Jimi Hendrix , Metallica , Carlos Santana , Rush , AC/DC , Van Halen ...
Respekt. One take, 100 riffs. Kudos to the guitartist, Alex Chadwick! See more MJTV video Listen to Musical Justice
I have no idea who this guy is, but I want to be him. And, you know, I was thinking about spending this summer teaching myself how to play guitar. But after this, I have absolutely no hope. Seriously, he just ran through 100 damn riffs, without hesitation. How do you even remember all those songs, let alone play them without thinking twice? This dude packs in everything from Black Sabbath and the Beatles to Modest Mouse and St. Vincent. Thank you guitar god! Watch this video and share your thoughts below. [ via ]
If you were trying to teach a space alien (or perhaps a person who was raised in some kind of religious extremist seclusion) about rock 'n' roll, you might well start with the impressive video below, in which Chicago Music Exchange 's Alex Chadwick plays the 100 most iconic riffs in chronological order, from Chet Atkins' "Mr. Sandman" to St. Vincent's "Cruel," in one 12-minute take. Now, we have a few minor issues with the list: Where is David Bowie? And Joan Jett? Sleater-Kinney? Is the history of rock really this white and male? Why so many hair bands, [...]
If you have 12 minutes to spare, watch Chicago Music Exchange's Alex Chadwick performing 100 guitar riffs that outline the history of the rock n' roll era. We've got to say we're loving that, according to this very talented guitarist, the last landmark guitar riff rock has given us is the hook on St. Vincent's "Cruel." But we do have to bring up a glaring omission: Radiohead . There are plenty of riffs to choose from but two obvious choices come to mind: "The Bends" ( around the 2:55 mark [...]

As a very mediocre guitar player, watching this video completely vaporized my libido. In it Alex Chadwick with the Chicago Music Exchange riffles through 100 consecutive rock riffs without pause, executing each perfectly in quick succession over the course of 12 or so minutes. The performance runs through famous ditties from classic acts like the Beatles and Rolling Stones, to more modern bands such as Cake and Modest Mouse. If you have a few minutes to burn today this would certainly be a fun way to do it. ( Stereogum [...]
Here's a video of Chicago Music Exchange 's Alex Chadwick performing 100 rock riffs in one continuous take, pretty much the rock and roll equivalent of the " Evolution Of Dance " video. Chris Weingarten beat me to this joke but apparently the history of rock ends with St. Vincent. Watch below. Read More...
