Au début, Eternal Summers, c’était un duo provenant de la petite communauté de Roanoke, en Virginie, et formé en fin de décennie 2000. Lui, Daniel Cundiff, à la batterie; elle, Nicole Yun, chantait et jouait de la guitare. En 2009, un premier EP, puis s’ensuit un premier album, Silver en 2010.
