Filed under: UK , Band of the Week Vampire Weekend must be wondering what's happened. They take a not-exactly-marathon gap to come up with their second album, and a host of bands appear, apparently determined to take their Afro-pop-inspired place. A few weeks ago, we profiled the really rather infectious Little Comets, whose single 'Adultery' is arguably one of the tunes of the year, and now there's Two Door Cinema Club arriving in sight, off-kilter jangle in tow. Hailing from Bangor in Northern Ireland, the [...]
It's Sunday and I really don't have much to post or any promotional stuff. Therefore, I'll post about this band as ever since downloading their EP I've absolutely loved them. The band is Two Door Cinema Club and the EP in question is Four Words to Stand On. It was released last year to a small audience. However having given it a listen it is a really promising start from a band I hope to hear a lot more about in the future. The EP opens with Cigarettes In The Theatre - a rhythm [...]
[Delphic - This Momentary] Such a brilliant video, presumably shot in somewhere like Ukraine, where masses of pre-war abandoned buildings still remains intact. Delphic 's This Momentary makes an apt soundtrack - tense high treble bass build-up and then dissipates. Certainly Manchester's answer to a less annoying the Whip , more eloquent and then some. ( Remember how banal Trash , by the Whip was? ) Two Door Cinema Club, I'm liking the name, kinda rings like Ontario's [...]

Today we've quizzed two acts from their stable - London electro-house duo autoKratz and North Irish indie pop three-piece Two Door Cinema . If you like what you hear both acts feature on the new Kitsune Maison compilation which you buy here! Without further ado... TWO DOOR CINEMA CLUB Pedestrian: How did you get on the Kitsune roster? [...]

Becky turned us on to Two Door Cinema Club a few weeks ago. This trio of fresh-faced Northern Irish lads released debut single, Something Good Can Work, in the UK recently and are picking up speed on tour with The Wombats . Their sound is very much indie-electro, sometimes leaning more towards the chilled-out-ness of Phoenix and sometimes towards the folk-pop rhythms of Jack Penate. Two Door Cinema Club is nevertheless honing their own sound among their obvious influences - one that's very breezy, atmospheric and quite lovely. Watch the video [...]

Thankfully, others are working their butts off for our entertainment, so here's a couple sweet videos recently released from a couple Northern Irish bands. First up is [...]
