Formed in Cape Town, South Africa during Spring 2009, Die Antwoord is an afrikaans futuristic rap crew consisting of Ninja (Watkin Tudor "Waddy" Jones ofMaxNormal.TV) and Yo-Landi Vi$$er. DJ Hi-Tek keeps the beats nice and dirty. The majority of their debut album, $O$, was released for free on the Internet in 2009 - Ninja also handed out free albums with hand-drawn artwork at live shows called $O$: Burnt By the Master.

Die Antwoord photo by Sean Metalerkamp Die Antwoord always seemed to be born out of Aphex Twin 's classic "Windowlicker" video , so it makes a lot of sense that the South African rap act will perform with the electronic music godhead at this weekend's London Electronic Dance Festival . The news comes straight from Die Antwoord's Facebook : "Yo NINJA and YO-LANDI are going to bum rush APHEX TWINS set at LED to kick some next-level raps with the Grand Master himself…in your fokken [...]

These bros. are performing at HARD L.A. MIA . Should be one awesome, twisted ass, fucked up party. Are these dudes for real or what? Something tells me that the marketing team behind these trio is made up of Albert Einstein and Steven Hawkin. Pure genius. Here are a few mp3's so you can educate yourself on the musical sensation that is Die Antwoord . Mother Fuckin' Beats: Die Antwoord - Zee Side DSCO approved! [...]

Starting this post off with a BANG, I think I'll expose some of you to some new talent. DIE ANTWOORD are a crazy trio from South Africa. Kinda like the Afrikaans answer to Coco Solid or Bumblebeez . Check their insane video below. SLAP IN THE BASS are a bassline/electro/house duo specialising in Lee Mortimer -esque insanity, though parts of it remind me of the more ravey Kicks Like A Mule , Squire of Gothos or Kanji Kinetic . They're also known as Dirty Monkeez , who [...]

We are living in an era where nicknames are able to singlehandedly increase your level of coolness (and at times douchiness). Popularized in part by the guidos of Jersey Shore, nicknames are becoming more and more common. Self-appointed nicknames, however, are pretentious at best because nicknames are meant as an easier way for others to call you, and not as an easier way for you to call yourself. As I, myself, am an appointed Music Ninja that has mastered the art of Kuji Kiri and trained under mentor Fujibayashi Nagato... it really pisses me off that some south african [...]
Ok melophobers, watch this video. It's not gonna make a ton of sense, but it needs to be seen before we can bring you an official Die Antwoord music video. You need the introduction to Zef rap-rave. You need to get ready. These burgeoning criminals from Zuid Afrika are about to come through the States. You NEED to get ready. You can watch this a work, but I wouldn't want anyone with hiring and firing power to watch it over my shoulder.

I've considered uninstalling our doorbell after Mike exploited it upon his arrival. When the upstairs neighbor was kind enough to let him in (I imagine he rang both apts. A & B simultaneously), he sprinted past her up the stairwell and then past me into my apartment where I followed closely. Straight to the refrigerator for a beer, to the cutting board for a lime. As he tilted the bottle ceilingward, its contents roaring down his parched gullet, I carefully wrapped the knife he used to cut the lime in cardboard; inexplicably, he had somehow managed to break it while [...]

Amazing, awesome, genius...that's all I have to say. Happy Friday people, please do enjoy Die Antwoord , it is the stuff that legends are made off, nuff said. Maxwinnipeg.

Yup, it's already that time again, but we're trying not to let school bum us out too much. Plus, sitting in the library jacked up on caffeine at 2 in the morning always gives me an excuse to find some new tunes. We hope these will give you a good opportunity to continue procrastinating (er, I mean, studying.) Good luck everyone. Flying Lotus was one of our featured artists this week, so it seems only fitting to post A Decade of Flying Lotus as our first mixtape. Enjoy 40 minutes of wacky beats produced by FlyLo and [...]

Thank god for the internet, I was on facebook and that fucking wall to wall bullshit on the homepage finally did something worth while. Die Antwoord (this website is fucking shinnyyyy as hell check it out) is a South African electro rap crew (theyve dubbed rave rap), I for one was getting really sick of that entire genre but Die Antwoord has come and I fucking love them. Made up of Ninja, Yo Landi Vi$$er and DJ HI-TEK I am expecting big things from this band. [...]

Last week, a new viral sensation 'hit the internet.' It is some rap group from South Africa, and no1 was able to tell whether or not they were 'real.' Does n e 1 know what the deal with Die Antwoord is? Not sure if they are ternative, post-TheStreets/eminem indie rap, or just some meme that was packaged by a high priced marketing firm who paid a huge tastemaker to blog about them. Watched some rap video that was supposed to be a 'raw profile' of them. Only really feel confused. Not in a [...]

I'm not sure if this is real - or they are accomplished students in the name of performance art, but regardless I cannot get enough. I'm truly captivated. Die Antwoord (Afrikaans: "The Answer") is a Zef-Rap act from Cape Town, South Africa consisting of, Ninja , Yo-Landi Vi$$er and DJ Hi-Tek . Basically, you can't dream this shit up. Their upcoming album "$0$" is simply superb and crawled up in my head and set up camp. My current favorite MP3, below the intro video. [...]

Watching to this interview, my mind went from Wikus Van De Merwe and deep-space aliens to body-jerking bewitchment to "wow. It looks really hot over there." Die Antwoord - which translates from Afrikkans to the answer - drop some serious "next level beats" and um, pretty intense rhymes that include psychic visions, raves, period blood, and naked babes galore. Check out their sweet web design here and the freaky-deaky diespace here . There's been rumors that Die Antwoord is a big fake-out, possibly meant to reap publicity [...]
Die Antwoord gets interviewed in their hood. They also gooi a quick rap for us. Yo-Landi Vi$$er goois her expensive hair. Ninja goois his piel in all directions within the restrictions of his expensive short pink floyd dark side of the spectrum pant. It all gets out of control. Its too much and you rock yourself to sleep, sucking your thumb. Beat Boy, Beat Boy Hit That Perfect Beat Boy Hit That Perfect, Hit That Perfect Hit That Perfect Beat Boy [via szanalmas ]
