Norwegian pop-rockers I Was A King will tour the U. K next month as part of a small scale European tour. The press release tells us that the new album features "a supporting cast including Sufjan Stephens and Gary Olsen of Lady Bug Transistor - I Was A King are a misty eyed pop-gaze of West Coast harmonies and ringing Rickenbacker.

I saw these Norwegian kids a few weeks ago when they played a sparsely attended show at the Black Cat, and even my grunge/metal loving +1 was impressed. They're obviously really talented, and play catchy pop numbers that rocked so much harder live. Think Dinosaur Jr. on whatever Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin is smoking.
