Outside of wondering why in the world the RIAA would seek over $220,000 for 24 songs that some lady had in a random folder, I have some news and notes, and music from Sally Shapiro, Band In Box, Oh! Sweet Music, Wiretree, Swivel Chairs, and the Forms. Clearly, this week's show is stuffed. Enjoy. Please visit the site for more commentary and downloadable songs.
What's there not to love about Regina Spektor? She's an amazing performer , she's adorable, and her album Begin To Hope has been one of the best pop albums in years. As Stereogum suggests: [Regina] doesn't make casual fans, she makes obsessive fanatics . And these obsessive fanatics are in for a treat today, there is not one, but two new Regina Spektor music videos for "Better" circling around YouTube. Version #2? [...]
I've become a huge Regina Spektor fan of late...There's just something about that unbelievable voice mixed with those cool piano melodies. Anyway, Regina has released her latest music video for the song "Better". I have just one question though. Is it just me or is her hair more frizzy than normal in this video? Check Out: Regina Spektor - "Samson" (Live from Lollapalooza 2007)

Regina's ACL set was remarkable, mostly for the deafening screams, cheers, and marriage proposals coming from the first, oh, 50 rows-or-so of Zilker Park side-stage loons during Ms. Spektor's a cappella intro. She doesn't make casual fans, she makes obsessive fanatics. Understandable, though; she's adorable, and Begin To Hope 's begun to establish her as pop elite. And so, Zilker stalkers, this video is sure to please: LOTS of Reginas in black dress and voluminous curls, then lots of women dressed to look like her, plus close ups of those icy-blue, Soviet kitschy eyes. Unfortunately, so smiles [...]
The introduction to the video briefly reminding me of a something straight out of The Polyphonic Spree's resume, "Better" strikes as something oddly playful yet artistic - and oh, so quirky...yup, it's Regina Spektor. If nothing else this updated version of "Better" answers the question, "what is better than a music video featuring Regina Spektor?" A music video featuring a swarm of Regina Spektor look-a-likes acting as supporting cast for Spektor, of course. (more...)

Since the success of Fidelity launched her into the public eye last year, Regina Spektor has become a staple artist for the Starbucks demographic. Her latest single, Better , is another light and cheerful ditty, powerful enough to incite a good mood. The video features an army of Spektor's frolicking through a hillside. Kind of like Multiplicity meets Sound of Music ...meets Bride of Frankenstein .
My introduction to Regina Spektor came last January as I rode the Dartmouth Coach from Boston to Hanover before my second term as a college student. My iPod had loaded her album three times for some reason, so I ended up hearing it thrice in one sitting. And ya know what? I liked it every time. From there on out I considered myself a fan. That was until I saw her legions of obsessive followers at Austin City Limits . Throngs of persons darn near had seizures when she took the stage, and I suddenly [...]
I LOVE Regina Spektor. I've been listening to 'Begin To Hope' non-stop after rediscovering it following her gig a couple of weeks ago @ Tripod. Anyway, here's her new video for 'Better'.
Almost as awesome as watching her many rabid fans go nuts as she took the stage at this year's Austin City Limits festival.... Previously * more REgina Spektor
See below for the latest clip from her mega-breakthrough record, Begin To Hope . MP3: Regina Spektor - The Flowers
Regina Spektor is rather goofy, in a good way... it makes her unique. Here's her new video for her single ' Better '.
