So Lana gets all Mr. & Mrs. JFK with A$AP Rocky in the beautiful video for "National Anthem" but the real question is why? I certainly hope there isn't a message. This song is already so heavy with clichéd lyrics. I just like watching A$Sap feel on that butt. Go get it!
Just in time for the Fourth, Lana has once again released a video, this time for her apropos single “National Anthem,” a song about true love, monetary value, over-indulgence, and the magic and mystery of living the life of the privileged elite. Join her and A$AP as they re-enact the Jackie-O & JFK ideal. Lana also makes a point to simultaneously encompass both Marilyn Monroe and Jackie-O all in one hipstamatic frame. Thankfully, she’s a honey-brown, otherwise we’d have some sincere confusion over hair color. More importantly, enjoy the video, of which some of JLBKO’s memoirs are [...]
How's this for a coinky-dink: Just as the much-talked-about video for Lana Del Rey 's "National Anthem"-featuring Lana as Jackie O and A$AP Rocky as JFK!!!-made its premiere, the surprisingly hot "odd couple"'s other highly anticipated collaboration, the Kickdrums-assisted "Ridin'", has also made its way to the Web. Originally meant for Kickdrums' Follow The Leader mixtape before being pulled off the set at the last minute (reportedly to find a home on Rocky's forthcoming LoveLiveA$AP debut), the track lands as a pretty strong merging of both act's respective buzz-worthy [...]
Lana just does it for me. No other way to put it. Gotta hand it to her for this one - one of the more well-done music videos I've seen in a bit. It captures that nostalgic, 19602s flair throughout - which we already knew she was good at via "Videogames." This is on another level though. Shout out to A$AP Rocky for nailing his personal spin on JFK. Borderline impossible to take your eyes off Lana as Jackie O. though - am I wrong? Born To Die in stores everywhere. Tweet
We got the preview of Lana Del Rey's "National Anthem" video featuring A$AP Rocky yesterday , now we got the full version of the hit single off of Lana Del Rey's Born To Die album. With Rocky playing John F. Kennedy and Lana Del Rey playing Jackie O, its definitely an interesting take on the video. Watch it below.
In her new Anthony Mandler directed video for "National Anthem", Lana Del Rey plays first Marilyn Monroe then Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis to A$AP Rocky' s John F. Kennedy . Anthony Mandler had this to say to MTV about the video: "You see why I held back on talking about it; I didn't want to spoil anything. Anytime you're dealing with the American Camelot of the Kennedys, you're dealing with a packed powder keg," he said. "And really, what Lana [...]
There's been plenty of buzz about this vid for a bit now since BTS scenes and word of its cinematic co-star came to light, and today Lana Del Rey makes available the fittingly-filtered video for "National Anthem". Yes we have Lana acting in some semblance to perhaps a couple of her idols in Marilyn Monroe & Jacky O, while on the other hand we get ASAP Rocky playing the part of a swagged the f*ck out JFK. See what you think of the piece above - personally the song is nothing special [...]
Lana del Rey - "National Anthem" (Tensnake Remix) Tensnake's trend of consistently awesome production continues with this Lana del Rey remix for the song "National Anthem" which just got a music video today (above). Our other favorite offerings over the past several months from the Hamburg-based producer/DJ included this remix of Friendly Fires. Friendly Fires [...]
Lana Del Rey and A$AP Rocky co-star in this new video for Lana's "National Anthem". The clip takes a vintage feel and fuses footage from JFK's assassination as A$AP assumes the role of Kennedy and Lana is Jackie O. Definitely a dope video. Watch it below.
Lana Del Rey is on another single. Here she plays both Marilyn Monroe or Jackie Onassis and her Kennedy is A$AP Rocky . The song is great and the video treatment makes for a pleasantly charming video. It doesn't feel like a cologne commercial, but its in keeping with her other social-media-guerrilla offerings. lana del rey - national anthem [this will forever be known as the video where lana and rapper a$ap rocky play variations of jfk and marilyn/jackie o. too bad the song is not one of my faves... but the anthony mandler video sure is captivating] http://feeds.feedburner.com/Wo ngiesMusicWorld
photo by Nathan Howard Indie-rockers WHY? released the title track from their upcoming E.P. Sod In The Seed . Lead singer Yoni Wolf raps, or more accurately speak-sings in a style reminiscent of indie alt-rock icon CAKE, what appears to be highly articulate nonsense, under which lies a somber description of the numbness that accompanies modest success in today's music industry. But instead of your typical "being-a-rockstar-is-so-hard" whining, Wolf's sentiment feels like an honest reflection thanks to WHY?'s upbeat indie-pop sound and Wolf's charming lyrics: "I'll never shirk this [...]
New visuals to Lana Del Rey's "National Anthem" starring A$AP Rocky. iTunes: Born to Die (Deluxe Version) - Lana Del Rey
- "National Anthem" music video by Lana Del Rey - Added on 27-06-2012 - Genre : Pop - Description : most hyped artist of the moment... I doubt anybody knows why that is... just the herd at work I guess - Tags : 2012 , 10s , Lana Del Rey
Oh, Lana Del Rey. Can you believe she once charted here at WRMC? Where to begin with her... the name change or the makeover? The SNL debacle? The really great singles ("Video Games" 4ever) and the really bad album that followed? The apparent replacement of her personality with what amounted to a Tumblr blog's mix 2010s MTV glamor and faded Americana kitsch? Yeah, let's start with that last one -- and, hey, how timely: check out the video for "National Anthem," probably the most offensive song on Born To Die. If you haven't heard it, the lyrics go, [...]
Lana Del Rey kicks off this new video with an ode to Marilyn Monroe's "Happy Birthday, Mr. President" sung for JFK. Then, we get a pop tune skewering our culture's love of money and consumerism with Del Rey and A$AP Rocky playing Jacqueline and John F. Kennedy... "Money is the anthem of success."
What a beautiful way to wake up. After months of speculation and anticipation the video for Lana's new single "National Anthem" has finally arrived. And shit, my boy ASAP takes sexy-stylish to a whole new level. However, I wonder how Iggy feels about his constant caressing of Lana's backside. Alright, I'm gunna go back to crying from cuteness now. posted by @clarkbs
