Last month Ryan Adams stopped by Jools Holland here in the UK to run through a few tracks from his much-heralded return to form Ashes & Fire . As on the album the highlight from this live session was the beautifully stripped back Lucky Now , a solid gold nugget of acoustic pop reminiscent of, well, Gold . It's an absolutely beautiful take. Now that Ashes & Fire , his excellently understated new album, is out in the world, Ryan Adams can get back to the business of being a rich weirdo. His latest venture is a parodic black metal-themed YouTube talk show called Night Sweats , which comes off a billion times more stoned and random than the weirdest show-closing writers' sketch on Saturday Night Live . With the release of his album Ashes & Fire we saw Ryan Adams made numerous live videos/appearances including one on Conan on which he performed "Lucky Now". A month later he's 4000 miles away from that studio and instead Ryan was in the BBC studios performing on Later... with Jools Holland . The rendition of the track can be viewed at the top of the page. Ashes & Fire is out now .

This week, Later... with Jools Holland got visits from both Ryan Adams and Coldplay. Not bad, Mr. Holland. Watch Adams perform his amazing "Lucky Now" below, as well Coldplay knocking out "Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall" and "Charlie Brown." Enjoy.
