"Plastic Beach", the forthcoming Gorillaz album is just about finished, and will boast a number of guest stars from The Horrors, Snoop Dogg, Lou Reed, De La Soul, Barry Gibb, Bobby Womack and Mos Def. Albarn has teamed up with Alan [...]
A trailer for the documentary, No Distance Left to Run, on Blur's 2009 reunion is out. It's all hugs and good times and nostalgia and looks like a lot of fun for aging Blur fans like me. Blur - No...

The Blur reunion was inescapable in blogland, but those reading stateside probably remember it to be extremely distant in nature as well, since the lads didn't come visit us here. Check out the blurb about it below and the trailer above and I'll see you in line after the holidays. Filmed throughout [...]
It seems only fitting for Blur to do a victory lap, now that their long-running rivals Oasis have (finally) called it quits. And what better way to do so than in a feature-length documentary chronicling the band's formation, rise to international fame, dramatic breakup and eventual reconciliation/reunion? That is what fans can look forward to in No Distance Left to Run , which hits theaters around the world January 19th. The trailer for the film (posted below) is a work of consummate sweetness. Set against a soundtrack of smash-hit Blur singles "Song 23 [...]
Two years ago Damon Albarn told NME that Gorillaz wouldn't make any more pop records . But you know better than to take Damon's word on the future of his endeavors. In a recent interview with the Guardian he says his cartoon band's next LP has a title ( Plastic Beach , because "the idea that plastic, we see it as being against nature but it's come out of nature. We didn't create plastic, nature created plastic.") is "going really well." He also confirmed a bunch of other details, [...]
No Distance Left To Run (Trailer):
After the compelling 'Some Kind of Monster' chronicling Metallica and the tragically beauteous one dealing with Spinal Tap, band documentaries have become a big deal. Now more than simple fluff pieces to flog albums, getting inside a band's inner-circle during turbulent times has become an art-form unto itself.
No Distance Left To Run , the movie detailing both Blur's previous career and reformation this year, will see the light of day on 19th January. ”With previously unseen archive material alongside new interviews and reportage, the film recounts the highs and lows of a very British band from the late 80’s to their headline return at Glastonbury and Hyde Park. The result is a musing on Englishness and identity and a portrait of friendship and resolution.” Or so say their record company. Here's the trailer... Related Oxegen [...]
The Blur reunion may or may not continue—Graham Coxon has been particularly unclear about the band's intentions during a series of interviews. Fortunately, a camera crew documented the brief set of dates they did undertake during the summer of '09, and the resultant film, titled No Distance Left to Run, is set for release on Jan. 19. Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace directed the feature, and they were allowed impressive access to the band. Southern and Lovelace shot the early rehearsals by the group, and followed [...]
Sure, there was a reunion. But odds are most Blur fans don't feel as though their yearnings to reconnect with the band were truly quenched and it probably consumes their thoughts during coffee and TV time. Well, at least now they'll have a new movie in a few months to make them even more nostalgic! The documentary film "No Distance Left To Run" chronicles their long journey to superstardom and uses a lot of footage and interviews from their recent summer reunion and Glastonbury shows. The film hits theaters on January 19 and the official trailer is above. [...]
One of my biggest regrets in life is befriending a quart of Jamesons on the sunday afternoon at Glastonbury 09 and subsequently passing out 2 songs into Blur's set, this documentary about their recent reformation might ease the pain a bit.
Filed under: News , Movies , UK Reformed Britpoppers Blur follow their summer of highly successful reunion gigs with news that a feature-length documentary based on their decision to work together again and the history preceding it is set to hit British cinemas in January 2010. Shot during the band's 2009 rehearsals and acclaimed summer tour, 'No Distance Left to Run' chronicles the return of the band that, along with Oasis , came to dominate the British music scene in the mid-90s. Blur documentary out in 2010! File under "Yes, please!" What looks to be an official Blur documentary, No Distance Left To Run , is coming out next month and I can't wait to see it. I loved the biography, Blur: 3862 Days: The Official History , since it shows the band isn't afraid to look at themselves in an unflattering light, and i suspect the movie will continue in that vein. Naturally I hope the title does NOT refer to the band officially ending it's career, and since [...]
In 1989 Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon, Alex James and Dave Rowntree formed Blur. And seven studio albums, one victorious Britpop Battle (sorry Oasis fans), £1M worth of Cocaine and twenty years later we have "No Distance Left To Run" a Blur documentary slated for a January 2010 release. There isn't much info out there but judging from the trailer "No Distance Left To Run" focuses on the band's recent reformation (cue triumphant music, Damon Albarn's outstretched hands, gazillions of punters, smiling faces and slow motion epicness) as well as the Blur's initial rise to super-stardom. Seriously, can't [...]

A 19 de Janeiro, na Grã-Bretanha, há, nos cinemas, um documentário sobre os Blur e chama-se, é claro, "No Distance Left To Run".
A blur documentary?! Hell yeah. (Kinda makes me wish I had attended the reunion show in LDN in 2009. Sigh.) (via AJW/ DiS
