I love The Strokes, I don't know many who as teenagers in the noughties didn't. Of course Angles , the group's fourth album, was going to be overhyped. Looking genuinely gracious The Strokes gave a somewhat awkward or unsure performance on US chat show Letterman earlier this week, but it was unsure in a very charming way. Playing Angles highlight, 'Taken For A Fool', the band are back on national TV and prove they have every right to be there.

They brought Angles ' most angular track to Late Night . They always seem to be at their most energetic for Letterman, but Julian Casablancas also wandered past the monitors and got on one knee toward the end. It prompted Letterman to say, "You all right? What's the matter? I think you're fine. You're a little hard on yourself."
