Most of you might already know about The xx , in fact I've been listening to their stuff for awhile. As I've said before though, since there is so much music, we tend to be pretty selective and The xx we never got around to posting. As the loyal followers of the band probably already know, the xx are working on their second album, due sometime in 2012. They shared this demo yesterday and it's definitely very demo sounding. It doesn't seem like jamie xx has had his way with it yet, at least to me. I still appreciate hearing something from the group and take comfort in the fact that they are actually making music for us again. What do you guys think of the minimalist track? Love it? Hate it? There aren't many albums more feverishly anticipated in 2012 than the XX's sophomore effort. Clearly, the band realizes this, and decided to give us all a Christmas present. Quietly released on youtube and their blog, the demo is a hushed intimate affair. The track is notably missing Jaime's signature room filling drums, but still manages to produce that spine tingling effect that only the XX can create.
