Video: MOGWAI Live Film "Burning" Teaser

Mogwai has released a sprawling live DVD spanning a large portion of their enourmous catalog. The movie is now available on iTunes and is directed by Vincent Moon and Nathanaël Le Scouarnec. Along with the DVD, Mogwai has released and accompanying live album entitled Special Moves . Lucky enough for me (and you) one of my favorite songs, "Friend of the Night" is included in the live compilation. The live version has some nice fuzzy moss that isn't included in the studio cut. Mogwai are to release their first ever live album / compilation ( Special Moves ) and DVD ( Burning ) package on August 20th. Recorded over three nights in New York last year, the visuals have been handled by Take Away Shows directors Vincent Moon and Nathanaël Le Scouarnec. I was late getting into Mogwai . I blew all previous chances to see them live. I've spent the better half of the last year devouring their albums start-to-finish on headphones. They're now atop my short lists of bands I need to see live. Soon. Despite coming late to the party, there's a lot to look forward to if you're a fan of the band. Vincent Moon, who is responsible for some of the best music video work on the web via the Blogotheque site, has teamed up with Scottish post-rockers Mogwai to make a movie. The film is titled Burning , and was directed by Moon and Nathanaël Le Scouarnec, who captured the band playing live.
