I found this over on Turntable Kitchen  and thought I'd offer it up as a little added bonus today. I hadn't came across this new track yet, but I do remember digging "Answer To Yourself" a while back but that's about the extent of my exposure to these guys... Suffice to say, I'll be checking out from  Strapped which will be out 9/25.

With an already hectic album release schedule set for the month of October, The Soft Pack will follow up their 2010 self-titled album with a new album titled Strapped , which will be released via Mexican Summer on October 1st. 'Saratoga' is the first single to be taken from the album, and doesn't sound too soft at all.

The dancey California indie rock band Soft Pack will follow up their 2010 self-titled album with a new LP this fall entitled Strapped , which may or may not correlate with the band's rather humorous name. "Saratoga" is the first track to debut from the record, and although it finds the band turning down the abrasion of some of their past material a little bit, the catchy melodies and crisp rhythms are still there in full effect. On September 25th, San Diego's The Soft Pack returns with its long-awaited sophomore LP, Strapped , via Mexican Summer. Described by the label as "adventurous," the latest venture finds the band "exploring the possibilities of how they can push their sound." Today, the garage rockers offer the album's first single "Saratoga". Unlike their 2010 self-titled debut , vocalist Matt Lamkin sounds rather hidden (nearly muted) here, overwhelmed by a blessing of phased, distorted guitars.
