When Craig Finn of Hold Steady fame makes a comment like "I still haven't seen this band live... but they made an amazing record that I was obsessed with for most of the year", and asks them to support their upcoming US tour, you take note. I'm not sure when I'll get around to doing a year end review, though rest assured, Philadelphia's The War on Drugs and their album Wagon Wheel Blues, mark some of the best from a good year.
