In late 2008 Dead Letter Chorus quietly released their debut album "The August Magnificent" on independent Sydney label Code One. What followed this humble release was a frenzy of hype and reviews not to be expected by anyone. The Sydney Morning Herald called it "Epic" and gave it 4-and-a-half stars. Rave Magazine and Rip It Up both gave it 4 stars calling it "an outstanding album" of "sprawling majesty and epic intensity". Thanks to the people at Killbeat Music for letting me check out this band from Australia. They are the Dead Letter Chorus . The band will be touring across Canada in March (Ottawa March 25th opening up for Two Hours Traffic ) and parts of April. The August Magnificent is their debut album. Surprised that this album came out in 2008. Its filled with great folk-acoustic-rock tunes. The standout track is "Chasing Hearts". Sydney's Dead Letter Chorus released their wonderful debut album The August Magnificent here in Oz in 2008, but they've recently scored themselves a record deal that will see it released in Canada on March 16.
