Marina & The Diamonds are very busy lately. The group will release the new single Hollywood (Feb 1st) to the public. So far a number of promotional remixes have been released to go alongside it. The Juan Maclean and Fenech-Soler both pitched in. Marina and the crew have tour dates starting late January 2010 that will see them pass through much of the UK; if you get a chance hit em up. Marina and the Diamonds ~ "Hollywood"(Acoustic) views: 61,657 Marina and the Diamonds sound reminds me of The Dresden Dolls / Amanda Palmer meets Bat for Lashes , and her/their debut album, Family Jewels , is due out February 15th. das jahr 2010 hat einen ersten kleinen hype, zumindest in dem kleinen musik-blogosphären-ausschnitt , den ich so zu gesicht bekomme. schließlich waren marina and the diamonds eine der wenigen bands, die in beiden hier schon vorgestellten hype-prognosen vertreten waren, und mir darüberhinaus noch sehr gut gefielen. und da kannte ich noch nicht einmal deren neuesten streich: marina and the diamonds - hollywood (acoustic) ( hier geht es zur normalen, nicht ganz so guten version) (via knicken )

You kind of know what you're getting into when you see "The Juan Maclean" on the track, but I'd also recommend giving the video a look as it's a nice acoustic version of the song. Normally clips for acoustic/alternative versions of songs aren't shot this well, with hi-def cameras, but Marina & The Diamonds does it differently in this clip for "Hollywood," her track that's apparently more about her own relationship with ideas of "America" than a commentary. What's funny about the acoustic version is how much punchier her lyrics and the melody sound with all of the pop trimmings of the original track done away with. What's funny about this video is that she's wearing what look to be strawberry epaulettes. Why hasn't that caught on yet, fruit accessories? [...]
