This week, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (RRHOF) announced its list of inductees for 2012.  To be eligible, performers must have recorded their first album 25 years ago, and exhibit criteria that demonstrate “influence and significance of the artists’ contributions to the development and perpetuation of rock and roll.”  There are categories for sidemen, non-performers, and early influences, but the category of prestige is performer and that’s where this rambling is focused. Considered by some - including VH1 - to be the greatest rap song of all time, Public Enemy's "Fight the Power" was a groundbreaking song in the history of hip-hop.  Flava Flav was an absolute nut back in the day, and Public Enemy as a whole had a flow unlike anything we hear today.  And yes, the video is really fucking tight.  Enjoy.
