Jack White has posted the second single from his soon-to-be-released solo album, Blunderbuss . The record is due out April 23, 2012 and follows a slew of different collaborations from the former White Stripes guitarist and vocalist including his bands The Dead Weather and The Raconteurs, and his recordings with Danger Mouse for Rome .

If Jack White’s first teaser track from his upcoming solo record Blunderbuss , “Love Interruption,” was a slice out of the radio-ready pop-soul he was doing with the Raconteurs , his second single “Sixteen Saltines” would likely fit in neatly among the White Stripes’ canon. So the hype was big once it was announced Jack White would be releasing a solo album called Blunderbuss , and I was pretty intrigued myself. White had wasted no time and released some new tunes, which weren't too impressive to me. I mean, they were good, but White is a great guitar player and I wanted to hear some riffs. His latest from the album "Sixteen Saltines" is more rock orientated and has that guitar sound I wanted to hear. Fresh? [...]

We get a new Jack White song to enjoy today. “Sixteen Saltines” is a lot more straightforward in your face rock out fare than compare to the much tamer “Love Interuption” You mgiht recognize this, if you watched the only bright spot of the Lindsay Lohan hosted-SNL a couple weeks back. A second track from Jack White 's forthcoming debut solo album, Blunderbluss , was released today. Entitled Sixteen Saltines , this song with a killer guitar riff immediately jumps out at you and grabs your attention. This is a fun song that makes me pretty excited to hear this album. Check out the song below:

Jack White debuted "Sixteen Saltines" the other week on SNL and I was relieved to hear that his solo material wouldn't be all twanged up. I'm digging everything he's leaked so far off Blunderbuss , but I think I speak for most fans when I say I want to hear something that rocks from White. The studio version was posted today and can be streamed below. You can also download the live performance from his SNL appearance in the Cloud below. Blunderbuss is almost here.

When Jack White performed on Saturday Night Live on March 3, he premiered this second song off his upcoming April LP Blunderbuss , "Sixteen Saltines." And while the live version was chaotic, it wasn't totally audible. Listen to the excellent studio version below and grab the album April 24.

"Sixteen Saltines" is the newest track to hit the web from Jack White's solo venture,  Blunderbuss . This one has the riffy, hard-edged bite of a White who is not messing around. He performed this on SNL but it's great to hear this riot of a song in its recorded form. This album is shaping up well and the April 24th release date cannot come soon enough.

If this blistering cut, the first single , and recent live setlists are any indication, Jack White's solo debut will be an eclectic trip through the styles he explored in previous projects. Come to think of it, there are hints of a few of White's other bands in today's preview, "Sixteen Saltines," alone: the guitar/drum-driven main riff recalls the White Stripes while the chorus' harmony vocals bring the Raconteurs to mind and an effects pedal-filtered version of the hook wouldn't be out of place on one of the Dead Weather's analog synths.
