• Cold War Kids - Audience Of One

I've got a gem for everyone today from the Fullerton, California indie-rock/soul band Cold War Kids . We Used to Vacation was the title track from an EP the band released in 2006, and was also the opening track to the band's debut full-length release Robbers & Cowards . Robbers & Cowards would be most successful in the UK where it peaked at #35 on the UK Albums Chart in 2007. On an interesting side note, the song borrows the line "I give a check to tax deductible charity organizations" from the Bob Dylan 1965 tune [...]

Despite all of those mixed reviews I've heard about Cold War Kids live, I headed over to Webster Hall last night to decide for form my own opinion. What the hell are people talking about? These guys put on an incredible live show, with each band member showcasing a unique and engaging personality. The highlight of the show for me was "We Used to Vacation," a soulful track off their '06 release, "Robbers and Cowards." Check out the vid below.

I slutningen af 2006 havde jeg svært ved at skjule min begejstring over alle de fede udgivelser, der lå og ventede i 2007. Jeg vil ikke sige, at jeg har været decideret skuffet over årets udvalg, men det har godt nok ikke været den musikalske våde drøm, jeg havde set frem imod.
