SXSW has come and gone again. It's speculated over 200,000 people littered the streets of Austin for the music lover's paradise, but I remember by Saturday morning, my liver had all but gone out on me and my feet begged me to not leave the hotel. Hot Chip went for the popular extended mixes of their favorite 80s hits with "Flutes." To do so, they called on the long, forever building club mentality that made classics like "Bizarre Love Triangle" so eternally appealing. The result comes from left field, especially when considering the constant playfulness behind 20102s One Life Stand . Let that be the first reason why "Flutes" is so good. The nearly 8 minute dance jam constantly evolves into new life, following singer Joe Goddard's voice from verse to verse. The rotating, nauseating video perfectly compliments the song. With Hot Chip 's fifth studio album In Our Heads fast approaching its June 11th release date, the band has let loose in-studio footage of "Flutes," the first song from the upcoming studio effort to hit the web. The song captures what has always made Hot Chip's music great, with a simple flute melody combining with catchy percussion and wavy synths in perfect unison. Check it out above. In Our Heads is out on June 11th via Domino Records.

It's finally here! Well worth the wait for something new from the UK's , Hot Chip . Released via video yesterday, Flutes is their new single. Needless to say it has us on the edge of our seats waiting for the full album due out this summer, you can pre-order it here . If you get a chance to see them live, its a MUST DO at festivals this summer and fall.
