A couple weeks after Neko Case 's Middle Cyclone claimed the top slot of the Amazon editors' version of 2009's top 100 albums , the Virginia-born case hit the Late Night with Jimmy Fallon stage to perform the album's single, "Red Tide." The part-time New Pornographers member and solo artist is currently on the final leg of her current U.S. tour, hitting the American Southwest before she departs for Australia. HANK ALTOGETHER: I saw Neko play a pretty disastrous show in Montclair, NJ two days before she performed this gorgeous rendition of "Red Tide" on Jimmy Fallon. At the Montclair show, the songstress got electrocuted not once but twice while the tech crew seemed to twiddle their thumbs. You may see Neko Case and many others touring and/or on the talk show circuit these days, even though their albums are past their prime. It's due to the re-interest in their albums based on the Album of the Year...

After topping the Amazon Editors' Best Albums Of 2009 list, Neko Case took a victory lap, performing a loose, pitch-perfect "Red Tide" for Jimmy Fallon last night. We've mentioned previously how good Case and her band sound live , so even though Middle Cyclone came out last March, she might as well prove she can sound great on every Late Night program.
