Why aren't we living in Sweden? While the prospect of great bands coming from there is hardly new, it would seem that 2010 will be the year of the Swedish invasion once again. Mono Stereo aim to be on board for the voyage and will certainly find their way into your heart. The Malmö band Mono Stereo is today releasing their debut EP "Space Out" ( 360 Degrees Music ). They have found their own niche with a sound that first of all makes me think of the sixties' psychadelia, but with an intensity and massive sound that reminds me somewhat of 80's/90's bands, like for example My Bloody Valentine and Jesus & Mary Chain . On "Orange Is Green", Sweden's Mono Stereo mixes psychedelic pop with shoegaze for a truly epic sound; it even dabbles a little in prog. The Malmö based Mono Stereo is a group that fuses mop top 60's with 90's era shoegaze. The music off their upcoming debut EP is unpolished and raw. For me the rawer the better so I selected their song "You Better" to share with you. There's not much to analyze here as the lyrics consist of the phrase "you better" and the music is a wall of sound rivaling the cacophony of My Bloody Valentine. You Better
