F KENYA RIP is the work of Highlife, AKA Sleepy Dough Shaw from White Magic. You can read about the awesome genesis of this great song at the NME blog. Sleepy Doug told us the phrase he repeats in F KENYA RIP is "'Les Dames a l'eau', which though probably spelt wrong here, roughly translates as 'The Ladies in the Water.'" So now you can sing along. Sleepy Doug (I love that name) kindly sent over a newly mastered version of that song and took time to answer our 321 questions. After the jump he tells us about Lions in [...]

Animal Collective could well release a new album this year, the band say that it's pretty much finished. Here's hoping. Many of the songs that could appear on it have been live staples for the past year or more, and all sound brutally brilliant. Noah's record, we all found inspiring in terms of what he could do with samples. For this [album], we were trying to sample acoustic instruments, us sampling acoustic things [...]

Weaving through the thousands swarming the A stage to dive into the photo pit for Animal Collective's headlining set at P4K Fest this weekend was trippy; not because AC drew thousands to their set ( seen it before ), but because it was a reminder that a band as offbeat as Animal Collective has arrived in full on festival headlining fashion. The set was a weekend highlight for most who saw it, and the trippiness didn't end with the walk over: cue the Coldplay light towers and a still Deakin-less AC intent upon experimenting and hypnotizing rather than [...]
Animal Collective performed a new track at P-Fork over the weekend, and despite the poor video quality and primitive sound, ...
From their appearence at the Pitchfork Fest. "Lion In A Coma".
GvB just posted video of the new song "Lion in the Coma," that Animal Collective played this Saturday at Pitchfork. I hate to ruin surprises, but I really, really liked their show.
Here's a new Animal Collective song, performed live on Saturday at the Pitchfork Music Festival . Not my favorite new jam of theirs -- that would be " Brother Sport " -- but " Lion in a Coma " will likely appear on the band's next LP (which, according to Avey Tare , definitely won't be coming this year ):
