Née le 27 septembre 1972 à Big Indian dans le nord de l'état de New-York, la chanteuse Lhasa de Sela est décédée chez elle à Montréal un peu avant minuit, pendant la soirée du 1er janvier 2010. Des suite d'un cancer du sein, une brillante artiste nous a quitté... Trop tôt malheureusement... [...]

The singer Lhasa de Sela passed away in her Montreal home on the night of January 1st 2010, just before midnight. She succumbed to breast cancer after a twenty-one month long struggle, which she faced with courage and determination. Throughout this difficult period, she continued to touch the lives of those around her with her characteristic grace, beauty and humor. The strength of her will carried her once again into the recording studio, where she completed her latest album, followed by successful record launches in Montreal [...]

A cantora norte-americana Lhasa de Sela faleceu no passado dia 1 de Janeiro, vítima de cancro da mama, depois de uma batalha de 21 meses com a doença. Nascida em Nova Iorque, filha de pai mexicano e de mãe norte-americana, Lhasa lançou três álbuns: "La Llorona" (1998), "The Living Road" (2003) e o homónimo "Lhasa" (2009).
