My listening habits have been strange lately. Check that my listening habits have always been strange. I tend to get stuck on certain bands and even certain songs for unhealthy stretches of time. Currently I have been stuck on Julian Casablancas' solo album Phrazes For The Young , specifically track number six - "River Of Brakelights". I'm not saying listening to one song over and over is a bad thing, but it does limit my ability to thoroughly listen to new albums. [...]

check out his official video released "11th Dimension" here. buy album ' Phrazes for the Young'. Julian Casablancas - Out Of The Blue (Live at Spaceland)
Julian Casablancas played Letterman last night (check the video above), and while it was a pretty straight-from-the-record performance, we have to admit it still got us psyched. Julian's deadpan drone takes on a completely different feel in the live setting, and with his shows on the east coast over the next week, we couldn't be more excited to catch him at Terminal 5. Yay! mp3: Julian Casablancas - 11th Dimension Julian Casablancas Winter 2010 US Dates Jan [...]

The future of The Strokes seems to be up in the air. Or if you read the Boston Globe article this morning, it's up to the other bandmates, and Julian Casablancas will add vocals at some point. We just don't...

Julian wasn't kidding when he said his sense of fashion was influenced by "Mad Max". "Two men enter, one man leaves!" All fashion aside, he performed a fantastic rendition of "Out of the Blue" last night. His performance has since convinced me to give "Phrazes for the Young" a second shot. I tried to like the album my first time around, but there was a lot of different things he was trying to accomplish that he spread himself too thin. (Video via the AudioPerv ) Tour Dates [...]
Behold, a leather-clad Julian Casablancas performs "Out of the Blue" on Letterman: Did you smile when Julian broke out his classic lapel-grabbing move? What about the blank stares into the distance? It's good to have JC back in action! Perhaps the best performance yet? Thoughts?
The future of the Strokes may be unclear, but that's not stopping singer Julian Casablancas from promoting his Phrazes for the Young album. He showed up on David Letterman's show last night (Jan. 6) to perform a version of "Out of the Blue" from the record. Backed by a full band and clad all in leather, Casablancas seems more animated than when he's fronting the Strokes, although his group of assorted session musicians makes for an odd contrast. And sensitive listeners beware: there's an incredibly cheesy guitar solo around the [...]
